Results - CBSE National Girls' Football Tournament

After three days filled with non stop fun and frolic,CBSE National Girls' Football Tournament, concluded at JBM Global School, Noida here on 12 November, the fourth and final day. This four day competition was held under the Aegis of CBSE from 9 November to 12 November. Around 38 schools from 8 CBSE Zones all over India & more than 500 girls participated in U 17 and U 19 categories along with Gulf International Zones to compete for the national title in the first phase. The matches for U 19 category started at 8:00 a.m on 12 November 2019. In the first semifinal match,Vatsalya International School, Anand, Gujarat trounced Father Agnel School, Greater Noida, U.P. 1-3. In the second semifinal match, PS Sen Senior Secondary School, Chennai knocked out Vidyagyan School, Bulandshahr UP 2-1. In this series of matches in U 17 category, in the first semi final match Modern School, Vasant Vihar, Delhi edged Ryan International School, Navi Mumbai 4-3. In the second semi final, Jawahar Hr. Secondary School, Neyveli, Tamil Nadu prevailed over Ahlcon Public School, Mayur Vihar, Delhi 1-0. The U 19 trophy was bagged by PS Sen Senior Secondary School, Chennai against Vatsalya International School, Anand, Gujarat 3-1. Arun Dhati Mathur, the highest scorer of the series with 18 goals, netted the solitary goal in the eleventh minute of the match to help PS Sen Sec. School, Chennai win the national U19 title. The best player of the tournament was presented to Shivani Rastogi of Vidyagyan School, Bulandshahr, UP while Simran Chaudhary of Vatsalya International School, Gujarat was adjudged best goal keeper of the tournament. In the U17 category, Jawahar Hr. Secondary School, Neyveli, Tamil Nadu held their nerves in a tense final and overcame Modern School, Vasant Vihar, Delhi 5-0 and won the U17 national title. K. Dhivya of Jawahar Hr. Secondary School, Neyveli, Tamil Naduwas adjudged the highest scorer in U17 category with 15 goals while the best player of the tournament was presented to Rohini Shroff of Modern School, Vasant Vihar, Delhi .Shanvi Thakur of Ahlcon Public School, Mayur Vihar, Delhi was named the tournament's best goalkeeper. Dr. Manjit Singh (Incharge, Sports, CBSE) graced the Closing Ceremony.He cheered and encouraged all players during the match. Along with our Managing Director Mr. Gurudutt and Principal Dr. Upma Arora, he gave away trophies and medals to Winning Teams and congratulated School for hosting wonderful Tournament of National Level. He also appreciated the school's initiative of hosting Inter School Sports Carnival - Aahwan for last 11 Years in various sports disciplines. The event was brought to a close by inspiring speech by Dr. Manjit Singh and vote of thanks by Principal Dr.Upma Arora. The special achievements of the series were: U19 group Winners-PS Sen Senior Secondary School, Chennai. Runner up-Vatsalya International School, Anand, Gujarat. Third place- Father Agnel School, Greater Noida UP. Third place- Vidyagyan School, Bulandshahr, UP U17 group Winners- Jawahar Hr. Secondary School, Neyveli, Tamil Nadu. Runner up- Modern School, Vasant Vihar, Delhi. Third place-Ahlcon Public School, Mayur Vihar, Delhi Third place- Ryan International School, Navi Mumbai
