School, Panipat, Haryana 2ND RUNNER UP (2): Bal Bharti Public School, Delhi Under 19 BOYS Winner: RISHIKUL SR SEC SCHOOL, PANIPAT, HARYANA (70) Final Score 1ST RUNNER UP: POLICE DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL, JALANDHAR, PUNJAB (67) Final Score 2ND RUNNER UP (1): India International School, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh 2ND RUNNER UP (2): Shri Guru Gobind Singh Collegiate, Chandigarh PRESS RELEASE CBSE Basketball National championship 2017 (Boys) concluded in JBM Global School Noida today. It was an exciting three days of basketball in which the sports skills of the Cluster winners, from various states were exhibited. With old rivalries being rekindled and new ones created, the entire tournament was extremely intense, as the teams from almost all the states of India and Gulf countries, desperately battled for the National title. It was a rare opportunity to witness a rare enthusiasm and high level of energy not only in players but also among extremely involved spectators. Rishikul Sr. Sec. School, Panipat (70) won the U-19 CBSE Basketball National championship (boys) 2017, while Santhal Jyothi Public school, Kerala (79) won the U-17 championship title. The second position in U-19 was won by Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar (67) while the third position was held by India Int. School, Gwalior & Shri Guru Govind Singh School, Chandigarh. Second position in U-17 was won by Delhi Public School, Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh (75) while third position was shared by Rishikul Sr. Sec. School, Panipat & Bal Bharti Public School, Gangaram Marg, Delhi. High score semifinals were played between Rishikul, Panipat & DPS, Rajnadgaon (53-65) and Bal Bharti, Delhi and Shanthal Jyothi, Kerala (46-74) in U-17 while U-19 semifinalist were Shri Guru Govind Singh, Chandigarh Vs Rishikul Sr. Sec. School Panipat (55-61) & Indian International school, Gwalior Vs Police DAV School, Jalandhar “You understand the true meaning of team spirit, planning, strategizing and other traits besides sports skills, when you play matches at this level”, commented the Principal of JBM who also wished the teams a great luck for their future, during the felicitation ceremony, held at school in the presence of more than 20 teams, coaches, parents and members of JBM management
